We raised £476 for charity

You helped us raise £476 for the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (S.U.R.E) through a series of fundraising events in 2016.

We chose S.U.R.E as our charity of the year for 2016 and hosted a series of events in order to raise money for it. These events included a summer tea party where strawberries and cream were available in return for a donation and late night shopping evenings where refreshments were also available for a donation to the charity. We also had collection tins placed around the shop.

We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who came along to our events and gave generously.

S.U.R.E is a registered, independent charity. Its objective is to raise funds to help provide top class cancer diagnosis and treatment at the Cancer Centre known as the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.

Paul Alway, Chairman at S.U.R.E, said: “We would like to thank all the traders and customers of The Emporium Somerset for fundraising for S.U.R.E in 2016. The money raised is being used to equip the new Hope Counselling Centre for cancer patients and their families, due to open at Musgrove Park Hospital in April this year.”
