Between running the business and the family, Cato doesn’t get much time out but when she does here are a few things she likes to do:
“I enjoy anything to do with having family time with the kids or gardening and home styling. If I can combine all these activities in one, then I am in heaven!
“We’ve always been DIY people, constantly building stuff – furniture, extensions, outside sheds – and then painting them.
“When the kids went to school I had some free time, so I started painting furniture and selling it on eBay, having done it for myself and our home for so long. I thought let’s start creating and selling and see what happens.
“On a day off I do like to hunt for pieces to paint in the region’s numerous auction houses and antique shops. I can lose days looking around them and we have lots and lots of brilliant ones in the Westcountry where real bargains can be found.
“We’re spoilt for great places to visit around here in this part of Somerset too, especially as we can just nip over the border into north Devon as well, but I prefer to drive over to Dorset when I need a bit of a seaside fix. Lyme Regis has it all – a pretty seafront, a clean beach for the kids and lots of fascinating little shops.
“I enjoy what I do so much I rarely switch off, so it’s a bit of a ‘busman’s holiday’ but I find it really relaxing. After plenty of mooching about and playing in the sand, we enjoy some tasty fish and chips and an ice cream.”
