A series of needle felting, lampshade making and Autentico chalk painting workshops will be running here, each hosted by an expert, throughout September and October.
They are a great opportunity for you to learn a new skill and it is always a great feeling to have something in your house that you’ve made yourself. Activities like these are also very relaxing and in a busy world like ours it’s great to be able to clear your mind and just focus on your hands and making something.
Our very own Cato Cooper will be hosting Autentico chalk painting workshops, where you can learn the basics of using the paints and waxes, on Thursday, September 7, Tuesday, September 18, Monday, October 9 and Wednesday, October 25 from 7.30pm.
Materials needed such as paints, brushes, boards to paint, waxes, an apron and gloves will be provided in the workshop price as well as refreshments and a picture frame to paint and take home.
Pip Brewer, who owns the Toodlepip shop is hosting a lampshade making workshop on Monday, September 25 from 7pm until 9pm. You will learn how to make your own 30cm lampshade that can be hung from the ceiling or used on a lampstand. All you need to bring with you is a minimum of half a metre of your chosen fabric. Another workshop will take place on Monday, October 16.
Needle felting workshops, where you can learn how to make a 3D creation of your choice using fibres and wools from rare breed sheep and Alpacas, will be hosted by expert, Naomi Stannard from The Crafty Shepherd on Thursday, September 14 from 6.30pm until 9.30pm.
The workshops are suitable for beginners and will cost £40 per person. Payment is required up-front before the workshop takes place. To secure your space, please call us on 01823 660076.
