How to make a home hygge

Posted by Cherry Pullinger on

The Danish trend of Hygge is sweeping the nation at the moment and it’s easy to incorporate it into your own home. It’s all about creating a super cosy atmosphere and enjoying the little things in life, which makes it perfect for the autumn/winter season.

To incorporate a little bit of Hygge into your home you can start with investing in candles. They can be scented or unscented and tea lights and lanterns work really well. There’s nothing better than the warming glow of candlelight to really give a room some atmosphere.

Incorporating a range of different textures into your home is a good idea too. Try fluffy rugs, chunky throws or knitted cushions or blankets for extra snugness.

You don’t have to go all out to introduce Hygge into your home. Just introducing a few accessories can really transform your home in a snug, cosy pod where you can escape from the stresses of daily life.
