As autumn/winter approaches and the colours of the leaves turn, so do our interiors. As the cheerful tones of summer cool down, shades of grey take their place, complimented by hints of natural, earthy colours through wooden accessories and wools. Tweeds and knits will return to bring a cosy feel to the home as we once again see a focus on the countryside and rural living.
The chunkier the knit the better. Don’t be surprised to find yourself drawn towards giant, hand-knitted blankets and pouffes, as they’ll be huge, in more ways than one, this year.
If you want to go moodier to match the season, then midnight blues, indigo and ink shades will also be on trend this autumn/winter.
Although ‘Greenery’ was Pantone’s 2017 Colour of the Year, for autumn/winter dark shades of green, touching on emerald, will be more evident and are a great contrast with light floors or walls.
